7 Easy Tips to Get more Traffic to Your Blog

Blogging is decades old now. According to a survey by Hubspot, almost 43% of people just scan the post whenever they read something. This means bloggers need to curate very thoughtful yet creative content to engage people. Yet it happens that you create a beautiful content that is informative but fails to drive traffic to your blog. You even go on posting consistently and care for your audience but all in vain.

When this happens, bloggers start doubting their blogging talent. Am I not good enough for blogging? Am I wasting my time? Should I continue blogging? Well, the answer is blogging does work. It has worked for many. The only difference is that they are doing things that yield more traffic. The secret to getting traffic on your blog is not just limited to posting a great piece of information. Instead, there are 7 easy tips you need to consider:

1. Give a Personal Touch to Your Work:

Blogging is not rocket science. It is very easy if you do it in the right way. For engaging your viewers, it is necessary to add a personal touch to your content. Say, for example, you can begin every post with a story. It establishes a connection with the reader at the beginning itself. Or you can opt for writing shorter posts that are easy and readable. Whatever may be your requirement, just add uniqueness to it.

2. Work on the Title:

Well, it is only your title that is going to be spotted first and the rest comes after. So, if you put a boring title for your blogs and posts, nobody will make an effort to even open it. So use nice, catchy titles for your posts. It is a sure shot way to get traffic on your blog. One can even use online tools like Buzzsumo to search out for topics and titles in the relevant category. Hint for choosing titles: use listings/numbering or questions as a title.

3. Focus on Visuals:

Why? Cause visuals are more effective to a human brain. This is a simple rule. Adding visuals in form of videos, infographics, or memes can drive more traffic to your blog posts. Platforms like Facebook and Instagram are popular for a reason and the reason is visuals. Canva and Piktochart are a great option if you are thinking about adding an infographic to your post.

4. Social Sharing Buttons:

Platforms like Facebook with almost billions of active users provide a great way to get that huge amount of traffic on your blog. Add social sharing buttons to make it easier for readers to share your work. Use appropriate hashtag and categories to categorize your content and let the social media do the rest. This is actually logical because you don’t have to worry about fetching readers then. Instead, your readers fetch more readers.

5. Start Group Discussions and Forums:

This is actually a smart way to get that required number of readers. For most of the readers looking for answers to their queries, group discussions and forums serve a reliable way. So whenever a reader comes to your blog post looking for answers, you already have what is required. An active forum will not only drive more traffic but it will also help in getting natural long-tail keyword for your site or blog.

6. Add a call-to-action:

Converting a visitor into a lead is a tough job. But to simplify it here’s what you need to take care of. Add a strong call-to-action at the end of your post. Be it an urge to read the next post, subscribe to your list or a landing page.

7. Organize Your Posts Correctly:

Organizing the posts for your readers is as important as it is for yourself. For example, a reader subscribes to your blog but cannot find newer posts as it is all cluttered and unorganized on your blog. The next moment they will unsubscribe your blog. So, it is advisable to maintain a clear, organized blog for fetching readers.

Bottom Line:

As hard as it may seem; the thing is blogging is easy if it is done correctly. Count on the points mentioned above to drive more traffic. Add your valuable thoughts on this topic in the comment section.

    Hi,
Great points you have here in this post. Although there many ways to drive traffic, these 7 are surefire ways to drive traffic if done correctly. However, my addition to the steps you mentioned is to use Quora to drive traffic. Quora is a great social site for question and answer. You can participate by contributing your answers to relevant questions, as such you can link to articles on your site that discusses the subject in details.

NB: The name of the author did not appear here. So i could not add a name in my comment. Your captcha is also a problem here. I have been trying to leave a comment but it keeps redirecting me.
